Broken Platter

This piece is a broken up platter that can be featured on various surfaces including dining room tables, buffets, coffee tables, and more. Centerpieces add style, tone, and set the atmosphere of a room. With this being the centerpiece in a room. I wanted it to convey the connection between a family and a room. The piece being split into halves that ultimately go together demonstrates how a room, more specifically the living room in a home can bring together members of a family. The two halves also contrast in colors. Although the same two colors are used, they are interchanged between the two halves to portray similarities and differences. Despite difference within households, shared spaces can bring everyone together to make a space more dynamic which is what this piece conveys.
